In doing so, the project will also pilot viable mechanisms to strengthen institutional systems to deliver local level WASH services, eventually generating lessons and replicable models to contribute to the overall improvement of hygiene practices and to the overall quality of life of communities of returnees. The project provides safe water and improved sanitation in selected villages in Mannar (North) and Trincomalee (East) districts. Grant Agreement was signed on November 29, 2011, and project will close on June 30, 2014. The project implementation progress toward achieving PDO is rated Satisfactory, so as the safeguards and fiduciary aspects of the program.
