This is also to update the results Page 1 of 5 The World Bank Report No: ISR14021 framework of the project adding a Core Sector Indicator (CSI). Main aspects of progress in project implementation include the following: • A second public call for proposals for productive subprojects closed in February 2014 and was very successful with more than 600 expressions of interests (over 400 were deemed eligible). This puts the project in an excellent position to undertake an impact evaluation of this second call for proposals. The design of the third (and final) call for proposals is currently underway. Public Disclosure Copy • The demand for water projects continue to be strong, and the Component 2 is expected to be almost fully disbursed during 2014. Appropriate models for greywater reuse were identified during a technical workshop conducted October 7-8, 2013 and are currently planned to be piloted in 2 distinct areas of the State. • Project activities assessed were deemed to be in compliance with World Bank social and environmental safeguards. • A basic Project Monitoring and Information System has been put in place and has performed well during the 2nd call for proposals. • Progress on key results indicators is being recorded and includes numbers of people in rural areas benefiting from new piped household water connections and improved sanitation. Other results of productive subproject investments will be recorded once the subprojects start reporting progress. Project Implementation Progress has been upgraded to Satisfactory to reflect improvement in Project management capacities and performance, resulting in accelerated Project implementation. However, an action plan has been agreed and a formal request for an Additional Finance has been received by the Bank.
