Provias has also intensified its activities to support the creation of new Page 1 of 6 The World Bank Report No: ISR110 micro-enterprises for road maintenance, resulting in the availability of 94 micro-enterprises (employing 694 people, including 248 women). Public Disclosure Copy On the institutional aspects and support to the decentralization policies, Provias has advanced an important pilot to decentralize the management of periodic maintenance contracts to 11 of the 17 most advanced Provincial Road Institutes (IVPs in Spanish). A detailed classification of IVPs in 4 groups has been prepared - depending on their institutional capacity, allowing to customize the type of technical assistance granted to these IVPs. In general, significant progress were observed in the project's soft activities (Rural Infrastructure Pilot, Local Development Window, M&E).
