After 24 months of implementation, the project has generated close to 260,000 person- days of work, approximately 52 percent of the intended target of 500,000 person days work for the targeted urban population. The Urban Works and Services Scheme implemented by Honiara City Council (HCC) has met 100 percent of its sub-component target of 250,000 labor days, delivered SBD 8.3 (US$1.1) million in wages and engaged 4,500 beneficiaries, of which 57 percent of the participants are women and 51 percent are youth who work an average of 60 days a year (taking into account repeat contracts). The Road Page 1 of 4 The World Bank Report No: ISR8809 Repair and Maintenance Scheme implemented by the Ministry of Infrastructure Development (MID) has has generated just over 8,000 labor days, to date. As of November 2012, approximately, 4,500 trainees have graduated from the Pre-Employment Training (PET), equivalent to 60 percent of the project’s target of 7,500.
