The demobilization component of the project is progressing well and all the demand for demobilization has been met. From January 1, 2009 to February 28, 2014, a total of 8,005 ex-combatants have been demobilized, including 4,000 from RDF and 4,005 from Armed Groups. Repatriation and demobilization rates however remain low due to ongoing operations in eastern DRC. Public Disclosure Copy Reintegration. Economic and social reintegration activities are progressing well. From January 1, 2009 to February 28, 2014, a total of 7,965 reintegration grants have been provided to ex-combatants, including 125 ex-combatants demobilized under the previous project. Support to cooperatives through training and learning tours as well as payment of reintegration grants have slowed down due to cash flow issues. Support to vulnerable groups. The project continues to provide quality and tailored support to children formerly associated with fighting forces and female and disabled ex- combatants. From January 1, 2009 to February 28, 2014, a total of 241 children have been admitted at the Children Rehabilitation Center, including 31 children who are receiving support at the Children Rehabilitation Center as of February 28, 2014. The project continues to provide support to a total of 2,890 disabled and chronically-ill ex-combatants. The project continues to provide Vulnerability Support Window (VSW) grants (in the form of access to training) to vulnerable ex-combatants. From January 2009 to February 28, 2014, a total of 4,518 ex-combatants who were selected in vulnerability screening received support through the VSW program, with an additional 14 ex-combatants in the process of receiving VSW support. Mainstreaming. Mainstreaming activities are progressing well. The project is providing inputs on Districts and Provincial Action Plans for FY 15 to take advantage of opportunities to strengthen mainstreaming. MONUSCO has now committed to participating in monthly meetings to reconcile data on incoming ex-combatants between MONUSCO and RDRC. Social reintegration. A full time psychiatric nurse has been recruited to provide screening and treatment at bothMutobo Demobilization Center and Muhoza Children Rehabilitation Center. An additional psychologist will be recruited to complement these services. Economic reintegration. As soon as cash flow issues are resolved, support to cooperatives through training and learning tours will be resumed and pending reintegration grants will be paid to beneficiaries as a priority. Support to vulnerable groups. The next cycle of VSW will start in April 2014. Follow-up visits to 155 child ex-combatants will be conducted in April 2014. Mechanisms to securely store child ex-combatants' psychosocial profiles will be established.
