All major works contracts have been awarded. Due to slow mobilization of the CST contractor, there is one-year delay against early project milestones. The contractor needs to focus on the increasing the rate of construction to achieve the acceleration schedule. The S&T contractor has progressed with design development and identified major system components in the scope of work. Project design for the electrics contractor has progressed and OLE foundations commences. The PMC is actively pursuing the development of a credible Integrated Project Schedule for completion. Two of the four Technical Assistance studies are complete and pre-study preparation for the other two is currently being carried out. DFCCIL has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) to provide livelihood enhancement training, skill upgrading training has been successfully completed for two continuous years. The program for FY2017-18 will be initiated soon. The contractor is in possession of 407 km out of the required 417 km but is not able to work in 20% of the stretch due to hindrances caused by land owners caused by non-application of policy provision for residual and severance lands as requested by the affected people as well as for vulnerable category for R&R assistance. ISO14001 certification has been obtained for the project site. Some forest clearances are pending.
