Currently 16 COMESA countries have launched the CAADP process of which 14 countries have signed compacts. Through the CAADP unit, COMESA is currently providing technical advice to countries engaged in CAADP processes by launching and implementing roundtable processes, helping to ensure quality control by providing technical feedback support on analysis and in the preparation of planning documents. The completion of the COMESA Regional Agriculture Policy and Investment Framework and its associated compact document took place in 2013 following input by a regional working group and a series of technical meetings, stakeholder validation and Ministerial endorsement. Formal signature of the compact document was expected in early to mid-2014 but is currently planned for the Ministers of Agriculture meeting in Kinshasa in October 2014.
