Works on three of the five rural road sections under the parent project have been completed (Granada - Malacatoya Phase II, Morgan Point - Long Bay - Queen Hill in Corn Island, Cárdenas-Colón Phase II). An Additional Financing in the amount of US$35 million was approved in March and became effective in June 2018, with no disbursements to date. A study to design road safety improvements is being procured. At present, the project is at 48 percent of its implementation timeline and, in terms of civil works for road upgrading components, stands at 44 percent of expected earned value, with contract resource expenditures for works at about 51 percent. The project has disbursed US$ 55.93 million, which represents about 42 percent of disbursement (including both parent project and additional financing). The Mid-Term Review mission is planned for November 2019. We have asked FOMAV (the maintenance agency) to conduct a survey of what is the Comments: gender composition in these communities and why women have low interest in participating. We will discuss with the client on how to rectify this based on the conclusion of the survey. It is envisioned that the target value of the sub-indicator will be decreased.
