Preparation of the AWP for the third year of implementation (2014-15) has been initiated and is expected to be finalized by February 2014. In its second year of implementation, the project has disbursed a combined US$ 4.032 million from the co-financed World Bank loan and European Union grant. The two project implementing teams, in the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the Deputy Prime Minister's Office (DPM's Office) have made significant progress in strengthening their engagement with Page 1 of 6 The World Bank Report No: ISR12747 the respective technical departments to advance implementation activities. Highlights of recent progress include: (i) costing and implementation plan for the essential health care package (EHCP), (ii) collection of data for the Service Availability Mapping (SAM); (iii) provision of support to the MOH for the rehabilitation of health facilities, (iv) procurement of equipment and service vehicles for various technical units, (v) recruitment of the National TB/HIV Coordinator and procurement of 20 TB Cough Monitors to screen TB patients for HIV during clinic visits, (vi) TB adherence officer training for new staff, and (vii) progress on the design features for the orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) cash transfer program.
