Has the Project Development Objective been changed since Board Approval of the Project Objective? No PHRPDODEL Components Name Increasing School Autonomy and Parent Participation:(Cost $342.00 M) Improving Schools' Managerial Capacity:(Cost $3.50 M) Research and Innovation:(Cost $3.62 M) Overall Ratings Name Previous Rating Current Rating Progress towards achievement of PDO  Satisfactory  Moderately Satisfactory Overall Implementation Progress (IP)  Satisfactory  Moderately Satisfactory Overall Risk Rating  Moderate  Moderate Implementation Status and Key Decisions 6/30/2017 Page 1 of 8 Public Disclosure Copy Public Disclosure Copy The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report Mexico School Based Management Project (P147185) The Key Project Ratings have been downgraded to Moderately Satisfactory due to the delays experienced in disbursements. However, most of the key indicators updated data (for 2015-16 school year) including dropouts, gross failure, and repetition rates reflect progress towards the achievement of the PDO. The only indicator that is not showing progress in the proportion of schools with parents' associations participating in the design, monitoring, and adjustment of the school improvement plan that decreased from 84.1 to 74 percent. This is somehow expected due to the major focus on improving school principals' managerial capacity in the 2015-16 school year. However, the Government continues to train parents in School Based Management issues and will intensify efforts to ensure that more parents are trained. In addition, the impact evaluation of the Project continues to progress as expected. The data for the first follow-up of the 7 impact evaluations conducted in the states has been completed and is in the process of being analyzed. Preliminary results will be discussed with the Government during the Mid- Term Review mission, planned for September 2017.
