The Government of Punjab (GoPunjab) has signed the required Agreement to entrust project management and implementation to the Urban Sector Planning and Management Services Unit (USPMSU). Hiring of requisite resources and skillsets at the USPMSU has been largely completed. The recruitment of operational capacity at City Program Units (CPUs) in the five partner cities for performing their designated functions was delayed due to the Election Commission of Pakistan’s ban on new recruitment at a time leading up to the national elections, but is now underway. Recruitment of staff for capacitating the Director General Monitoring and Evaluation (DG M&E) is also Page 1 of 5 The World Bank Report No: ISR10660 ongoing and expected to be completed by end-June, 2013. Year-1 DLIs were met by Project Negotiations, and the first tranche of USD 26.72 million has recently been disbursed. Work towards achieving Year-2 DLIs is underway.
