The Loan was signed in December 2012, and the Project achieved effectiveness on March 7, 2013. OSE is actively moving forward with a number of key activities, including: i) the development of a communications strategy, an asset management road map and a logistics management model; ii) the bidding processes for the replacement of motors in the Aguas Corrientes water treatment plant, the construction of the Durazno water treatment plant, the Page 1 of 7 The World Bank Report No: ISR10107 creation of districts of measurements and control in Salto and the purchase of macro and micro meters; and iii) the implementation of sludge management pilot projects andthe definition of a methodology for how to approach the contracting process for the development of the sludge master plan. OSE conducted a study to the Water Division of the Empresas Públicas de Medellín (EPM) from Nov 27 to30, 2012, to exchange ideas and gain knowledge on best practices on modernization, corporate management and environmental sustainability. OSE also held an integrated risk management workshop from April 8 to 9, 2013, laying the groundwork for the Project’s risk management and planning subcomponent, Public Disclosure Copy and participated in a workshop on Energy Efficiency and Non-Revenue Water in LAC Water Utilities, held in Mar del Plata, Argentina from Jun 05 to 7.
