The objective of the Project in Grenada is to measurably reduce vulnerability to natural hazards and climate change impacts in Grenada and in the Eastern Caribbean Sub-region. The objective of the Project in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is to measurably reduce vulnerability to natural hazards and climate change impacts in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and in the Eastern Caribbean Sub-region. The achievement of the Program Development Objectives of the Regional Disaster Vulnerability Reduction Program (RDVRP) would be measured using the following key indicators: (a) Reduced risk of OECS population to failure of public buildings and infrastructure due to natural hazards or climate change impacts; and (b) Increased capacity of OECS Governments to identify and monitor climate risk and impacts. The RDVRP was extended by 24 months with a new closing date of December 31, 2020. The extension enables the project to achieve its PDO and allows for the completion of activities under project in Grenada and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, increasing disaster resilience in both countries. The Government and the Bank has agreed on a time bound action plan to improve the project implementation and to complete activities before the new closing date. The next field mission to assess procurement arrangements is scheduled for January 2019. Grenada In Grenada, the implementation of the Project has advanced fairly satisfactorily with 73 percent of the Project funds committed and disbursed. All but four of project activities are completed or are on track to be completed prior to the Project's current closing date. To date, the project has largely met its development objectives with full achievement of most of the PDO-level and intermediate results indicators, with full achievement contingent on the completion of remaining activities. Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) In SVG, the implementation of the Project continues to improve with several civil works completed and others ongoing or expected to start within the next six months. Given the number of activities remaining under the Project, the Government is recruiting additional staff to enhance implementation capacity. In addition, the Bank will provide more hands-on support to ensure that critical milestones are met.
