The purpose of the activities supported under the grant is to strength the fiduciary standards by creating a framework for auditing the procurement and technical aspects of large scale infrastructure projects including the ones financed by the World Bank. The Recipient of the Grant (Ministry of Finance) and implementing Agency for the technical audit component (Ministry of Transport and Communications) took the decision to start implementation of the IDF Grant activities once the civil works and most of the procurement activities under the South West Roads Project Page 1 of 3 The World Bank Report No: ISR7492 (SWRP) and other projects which are part of the "West East - West China" transport corridor are in advanced stage. This had impact on the early start of the agreed activities under the IDF grant as originally envisaged. Despite initial delay the project is back on track. Ministry of Finance is in advanced stage with the procurement of the consultancy services (single consultancy contract under the Public Disclosure Copy grant). Technical evaluation of the proposals by the Evaluation Committee composed of representatives of the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Transport and Communications was submitted to the Bank for review on June 16, 2012. It is expected that the procurement process will be completed by the end of July 2012 and contract with the consulting firm will be signed in the middle of August 2012.
