The findings showed significant progress was made since the last supervision mission. In particular the revamping of the project management methodology adopted by Eletrobras is allowing for better implementation, close oversight by their top management and central support to the EDE’s. The improved implementation is seen with a much expedited counterpart components. While the Bank’s funded portion is still lagging behind, implementation has picked up, in particular with the two largest procurement items which account for Page 1 of 10 The World Bank Report No: ISR11707 an estimated 50% of the project. The project's fiduciary and safeguard arrangements and implementation were reviewed. The project's M&E systems were also reviewed and Core Indicators added to monitor the project's progress, in particular with the social indicators.
