The Support to the National Urban Transport Program Project (SNUTPP) will continue financing the implementation of the BRTs of Bucaramanga and Medellín-Valle de Aburra) and will finance urban transport activities in the cities of Sincelejo and Valledupar. The current situation of the sub-projects that will the loan is financing is the following: Page 1 of 8 The World Bank Report No: ISR12746 Bucaramanga (Metrolinea): started operations in 2010 and the ridership is increasing. With the implementation of the Phase II in this year the number of passengers increased from 56.000 to 150.000 trips per day. However it is still low according to the initial estimated demand. The SNUTPP will finance principally the construction of the North Terminal, the terminal of Piedecuesta ans Giron and the construction of feeder routes. Public Disclosure Copy Medellin- Valle de Aburra (Metroplus): The system started operations in December 2011 in the sector of the municipality of Medellin. Currently is moving around 30.000 trips per day. The Metro Company is in charge of the operations of the system. The SNUTPP will finance principally the construction of the "Pretroncal" of Envigado-Itagui (municipalities of the Metropolitan Area). The cities of Sincelejo and Valledupar have not initiated their projects. Through the TA component, the Ministry is strengthening its capacity to supervise and follow up the whole National Urban Transport Program.
