The project supports 3,262 villages in 16 districts in which currently 585,340 beneficiary HHs (approx. 3.5 million people) are mobilized in to 45,539 Nuton Jibon Groups. To date, 99 percent of villages (3,222 out of 3,262 villages) have accessed the Village Development and Risk Reduction Fund (VDRRF). Eighty-seven percent of village level institutions (2,793) are reported to function in a transparent, inclusive and Page 1 of 7 The World Bank Report No: ISR15606 accountable manner following project guidelines. About 94 percent (36,900 out of 39,255 decision making positions) of the decision making positions of the village institutions are occupied by marginalized and vulnerable and women. A total of 4,282 infrastructure sub-projects have been completed in 2,535 villages benefiting 887,250 households, including non-target households in the village and an additional 900 sub-projects are ongoing. The project has initiated second generation institutions in four districts comprising 593 villages. More than 35,000 most vulnerable have received a one-time grant of which 33,450 (96 percent) started income generating activities. A youth data base has been completed and Public Disclosure Copy nearly 37,000 youth have received skills development training and 36,200 if these are currently in wage and self employment.
