Activities with benefits for target IDPs have been delivered under Component A, Micro-projects and Component C (c) Micro-Credits in accordance with the planned implementation timetable. There is minor delay under Component B, Housing Renovations and no rehabilitation works have yet begun although the necessary preparation activities including community mobilization and preparation of designs are underway and renovation works are expected to commence by the close of the calender year. Components C (a) Youth Support and C (b) Income Generation are delayed by an Page 1 of 8 The World Bank Report No: ISR8117 extended timetable for the procurement of consulting services as the deadline for submission of technical and financial proposals has recently been extended to allow the fullest participation of short listed firms. A third major consulting contract for delivery of community mobilization in target communities has been hampered by the lack of interested bidders and will be re-advertised. Nevertheless the implementing agency (SFDI) is taking proactive steps in expediting the selections and to facilitate rapid implementation once the contracts are concluded. SFDI has made considerable progress on filling the new staff positions for the project. As per the discussions during the previous mission, a Deputy Director with sole Public Disclosure Copy responsibility for the World Bank financed activities was selected and approved and has commenced duties. Nevertheless a number of key senior positions remain vacant and will need to be re-advertised.
