Since June 2014, progress has been observed in all components. Several large ongoing contracts (rehabilitation of the water systems in Bashkarasuu, Batken, TashKumyr and Isfana) under Component A, Basic Infrastructure, require close supervision for their successful completion by June 2015. The investments will increase the amount of water supplied to the distribution networks of the cities. Following completion of works supported under the project, the Vodokanals of the three cities will test the existing distribution networks and depending on the results of the tests, some additional works on the networks may be required to achieve the intended under the Project results. Component B, Community Investments, continues to perform well and the majority of sub-projects have either been completed or are close to completion. Implementation of Component C, Institutional Development, has also accelerated and a network information system is being implemented for the Vodokanal of Bishkek. The GIS-based inventory recording process of the water supply system in Bishkek in ongoing and will continue after project closure. Total IDA funds allocated to the Project amount to USD 27.8 million (equivalent - USD 12 million from BOUIP and 15.8 million from BOUIP AF).
