Despite the change in government that resulted in major changes in mining sector institutions, project implementation has been advancing well. Project implementation is advancing well. Implementation and procurement for major project activities is well on course including the Countrywide Airborne Geophysical Survey, which got underway in February 2019. A Importantly, following the submission of a copy of the Cabinet Conclusion Minute Paper dated November 22, 2018 signed by the Secretary to the Cabinet and Head of the Civil Service, with the approval notice of the new Sierra Leone Minerals Policy, Geodata Management Policy and Artisanal 4/14/2019 Page 1 of 7 The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report Extractive Industries Technical Assistance Project Phase 2 (P160719) Mining Policy, the Disbursement Condition stipulated in the Financing Agreement, Schedule 2, Section III B.1(b) was fulfilled and funds could be disbursed against the survey. Given the current implementation rate it is expected that procurement for most project activities will be finalized by their indicative timelines. Since its effectiveness date, March 1, 2018, the project is currently at a 26 percent disbursement rate; 26 of the 39 project activities have been or are in the process of being procured which will result in a disbursement of US$13,478,576.20 representing 67 percent of project funds by the end of the calendar year.
