For the teacher training component 1,284 student teachers graduated in September 2013. A cohort of 1,244 students has initiated the teaching practice in selected schools in early October 2013 in line with the 2013-2014 school year. The delivery of food/meals to schools for the school year 2013-2014 is planned by early December 2013. For the community based schools component, schools are under construction in 10 pilot communities. Schools are opened in temporary shelters in 53 new communities selected in the four targeted departments (Sud, Sud-Est, Nippes andGrandeAnse). Students received textbooks and uniforms and the project provided operation budgets.
