During that mission the team visited the following site: Magdalena Bajo Region, which is one of the 5 areas of intervention. However, it is expected that by December 2013, 45% of the GEF resources will be disbursed, as all the short-term payments for environmental services (PES) will be paid for the baseline of the project, and some in farm investments to establish SPS will be initiated. Public Disclosure Copy The project has made progress on some indicators including the development of several manuals on SPS, PES and GAP, which have been used during the TA sessions; the training of more than 70 technicians operating at the territorial level on SPS; 3 strategic alliances have been consolidated with key public and private national and regional entities for the implementation of the Project (SENA, Colciencias and Banco Agrario); CATIE has been hired to evaluate the SPS impacts on climate change, and Fedegan has strengthened the PIT at the regional level with 40 additional technicians. In addition, the United Kingdom (DECC-Investment Climate Fund, ICF) has granted Colombia with an equivalent US$25 million to support the scaling up of the Colombia Mainstreaming Sustainable Cattle Ranching Project. In December 2012, it was decided to process this contribution from the UK-DECC as an Additional Financing to the GEF Project. The Additional Financing is under preparation and expected to be effective by the end of August 2013.
