The specific objective of the proposed project is to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the land registry and cadastre services. This objective will be achieved through: (i) renovating and updating cadastre maps to support digital cadastre and land registry information; (ii) making the digital land registry and cadastre information available to public and private entities (iii) improving customer services in land registry and cadastre offices; (iv) improving human resources in the Turkish Land Registry and Cadastre Agency (TKGM); and (v) developing policies and capacity to introduce best international practices in property valuation. Key components of the project such as cadastral renovation and base mapping are progressing satisfactorily with base mapping works exceeding the target. Bursa Model Office is completed and has become operational. TKGM plans to build two more model offices at Kahramanmaras and Kilis. Training and property valuation components have gained momentum. As a result TKGM has Public Disclosure Copy reduced the time to deliver data requests from one week to 2 hours, the level of disputes in the courts to 0.3%. Overall the project is making satisfactory progress toward achieving the project objectives. The restructuring, also includes revision of the results framework to adjust/complete missing targets and to revise some indicators to make them more measurable, introduction of core sector indicators for land administration, reallocation of funds between categories and components, and revision in the description of some sub-components to more accurately reflect the actual tasks.
