To date, the SSN project has (i) exceeded the original targets for the number of beneficiaries, and the proportion of whom are women; (ii) continued to improve the timeliness of payments, securing timely payments during 2016 and 2017; and, (iii) incorporated into the SSN the extremely poor households from those beneficiaries temporarily covered under the Ebola immediate recovery period. An independent targeting assessment found that the SSN is well targeted to extremely poor households. An impact evaluation is underway to measure the effects of the program on the wellbeing and productivity of households. NaCSA rolled-out program IDs (with QR codes) to beneficiaries in the nine districts, with IDs currently being prepared for those households that were recently enrolled into the program. Complementary workshops. Implementation of beneficiary workshop is also progressing well: module one is being delivered regularly to all beneficiaries (except for those who were recently enrolled into the SSN). Module two (on health, nutrition and WASH) has been fully being rolled out. The preparation of module three (on financial literacy) has been completed. Project visibility. Information materials continue to be created and distributed to communities. Social Protection Policy review & Institutional Strengthening. The Government, with support from the World Bank, has completed the revision of the Sierra Leone social protection policy.
