The component A has reached significant results both in terms of reaching the target beneficiaries and distribution of the quantities of inputs. The quality of technological interventions in the context of restoration of their livelihood and in resilience is also encouraging. Rehabilitation works of the existing 240 shelters under component B have been completed last year. Constructions of 48 new shelters have been completed to date and another 50 shelters to be completed by June 2014. Repair works of the coastal embankments by BWDB under Component C has reached close to the target length. There are some implementation challenges with DDM, Public Disclosure Copy component D. Particularly with regard to the delay in signing the contract for the Rough Sea Search/Rescue Boats. PCMU is working closely with the project steering committee and DDM to get this resolved. The second impact evaluation survey of the project was conducted in September 2013 and it revealed noteworthy reduction in poverty incidence by 36% in the affected areas under the project (14% of HHs is now below poverty threshold vis-à-vis 50% during a baseline survey in 2010). The works under the Bangladesh Climate Change Resilience Fund (BCCRF) is also progressing well. BCCRF is supporting the implementation of the component B through a grant amount of US$25 million (TF099305). Out of the total 61 new multipurpose disaster shelters (DS) to be constructed from this grant fund, 8 are already completed and 25 additional DS are expected to be completed by June 2014. The progress of implementation of 11.50 Km of road under a single package stands at 68%. Two contract packages under BCCRF funding located in Satkhira and Khulna districts where no works could be done during the months of political unrest would need extension for six months. Wit the approval of second Additional Financing (AF-II) of US$140 mill equivalent in Dec 30, 2013, the total available funds for this project are now US$356.9 million. As of March 31, 2014, the disbursements from all sources of funds are now US$152.1 million. This is 42.7% of the total fund for the project including the AF-II. Out of this total disbursements, IDA disbursements are US$128 million (39.5%). In FY14, IDA disbursements has so far been US$28.8 million. The disbursements under BCCRF is US$15.9 million (64%) and Kfw's fund of US$4.86 mill is fully disbursed.
