This six-year project, with an estimated cost of US$178 million, including IBRD financing of US$100 million, will support investments in rural productive inclusion and market access for organized rural producers in the State of Pernambuco, using value chains as a guiding force for territorial development. Complementary infrastructure investments will also be financed to both advance the State's goal of universal access to water resources and to secure greater water efficiency and productivity for rural agricultural production. Over its six-year horizon, the Project is expected to reach 10,500 organized rural producers with Business Plan development assistance and investment resources, which would be leveraged toward additional partnerships (both financial and technical) from Page 1 of 4 The World Bank Report No: ISR12936 the private sector, financial institutions, technical service providers and other public and private institutions. At present, some twenty Business Plans (toward an overall goal of 150 Business Plans) are under development in value chains such as beekeeping, small ruminants (e.g., goats and sheep), cashews and horticulture.
