The project comprises of two components: (1) a results-based component—Component 1—which provided financing for PESRP II, amounting to US$340 million (97% of the total Credit); and (2) a Technical Assistance (TA) component—Component 2—which finances essential advisory, technical, and capacity-building support for PESRP II, amounting to US$10 million (3% of the total Credit). This has meant a greater focus on improving teacher quality and performance given that, in this context in particular, these factors are virtually synonymous with school quality and performance.
