However, DPHE has now engaged the technical design, feasibility Page 1 of 5 The World Bank Report No: ISR16121 studies and social mobilization consultancy contracts for the preparation of piped andnon-piped water supply options and sanitation facilities installations. Given the implementation delays, the project will not meet the targets set at the beginning of the project by the project closing on June 30, 2017. This calls for re-defining and restructuring of the scope and coverage of the project so that it can be comfortably completed by the closing date. The status of project implementation will be reviewed at the mid-term review, planned for January 2015, and decisions on restructuring the project will be made based on the findings. At this point there is no progress to report on the PDO outcome indicators as the major project Public Disclosure Copy interventions critical to achieving the PDO have been significantly delayed. A mid-term review is planned early next year (January 2015) to determine the exact scope of project restructuring. It is critical that DPHE fast-tracks the preparation of works packages for the major project interventions – i.e. piped rural water supply schemes, non-piped rural water supply options, and hygienic sanitation facilities. Progress on these fronts by the mid-term review will determine the scope of restructuring and the amount of cancellation.
