The project was restructured on June 21, 2011, and. A Mid-Term Review (MTR) was conducted in February 2013, in close coordination with the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB), to assess the project status and identify strategies to improve its implementation. The progress towards achievement of Project Development Objectives (PDO) continues to be satisfactory. As of October 2013, the project had disbursed US$7.4 Public Disclosure Copy million (50% of loan proceeds). The Project is effectively contributing to improve families’ access to maternal and child health home assistance, through the consolidation of the Strategy for Promotion of Healthy Practices and Environments (EPPES); and to strengthen the regional management capabilities on maternal and child health through specialized training in neonatal and obstetric competencies for health professionals, and managerial capacity for the Health Regional Directorates (DIRESA). The Promotion Strategy for Identification (DIA) has contributed to facilitate the non-contributory health insurance (SIS) identification and affiliation process. Also, the Promotion Strategy for Identification (DIA) has contributed to facilitate the SIS’ identification and affiliation processes. On the other hand, the project is strengthening the regional management capabilities on Maternal and Child Health (MCH) through specialized training in neonatal and obstetric competencies for health professionals and managerial capacities for the Health Regional Directorates (DIRESA). Specific recommendations coming from the MTR have been implemented to ensure achievement of project goals.
