The Quito Metro Line One Project (P144489) was approved by the Board on July 25 2013. The board also approved a waiver to the use of Bank procurement guidelines and Page 1 of 5 The World Bank Report No: ISR12392 authorized the use of IADB procurement guidelines for component 2 (see below), which is jointly cofinanced by the World Bank, IADB, CAF and EIB. 2. The loan agreement was signed on November 11, 2013. Effectiveness is expected by February 12, 2014. 3. This ISR reports on the implementation of all five components that constitute the project: 4. Component 1, Construction of the metro stations of La Magdalena and El Labrador: This component is financed by counterpart funds. Works are advancing well, on time Public Disclosure Copy and within budget. Current progress of the works is 27%, and the programmed date for finalizing these works is May 2014. 5. Component 2, Infrastructure and Equipment Investment for the Quito Metro Line One: This component is jointly cofinanced by the World Bank, IADB, IEB and CAF and counterpart funds. IADB procurement guidelines apply to this component. The cofinanciers have issued no objection to: (i) the invitation to prequalify (April 5, 2013); (ii) the Prequalification Evaluation Report (November 4, 2013), and (iii) the bidding documents (November 19, 2013). 6. Component 3: Provision of Train Sets to Operate in the Quito Metro Line One: This component is financed by counterpart funds. EPMMQ will conduct a bidding process for this component. 7. Component 4, Project Management: This component is financed by IADB, CAF and counterpart funds. This component refers mainly to the hiring of consultants to supervise the works in components 1 and 2 and it is advancing well. 8. Component 5, Technical Studies to Support Project Implementation: financed solely by the World Bank loan, using World Bank guidelines for selection of consultants.
