Almost 148 km of the main canals' sections compared with the initially planned 133 km and more than 47 km out of the planned 50 km of tertiary canals (revised based on a technical review from 63) - new component - have been rehabilitated. As a result water losses in the selected main canals were reduced from 114 million cubic meters (MCM) to 17 MCM under the original Project and from about 40 MCM to 6 MCM under AF and in tertiaries from 14.5 MCM to 4.9 MCM. Works on the remaining sections of tertiaries will be completed by June 30, 2013. As of mid-May 2013, rehabilitation activities created 17,135 man-months compared with the target of 16,000 man-months. The value of wages paid to construction workers up until Page 1 of 7 The World Bank Report No: ISR10898 now is estimated to be almost US$8.3 million. Subsidy policy study, introduction of the GIS-based software in all operating WUAs and development of business plans for all operating WUAs have been completed under the original project. The consulting firm hired for carrying out feasibility study and revisions of EMP and RPF for the Meghri Gravity Scheme included under the new irrigation project - Irrigation System Enhancement Project (ISEP), completed its assignment.
