Has the Project Development Objective been changed since Board Approval of the Project? Yes No Component(s) Component Name Component Cost Development of tertiary treatment at the NBWWTP (Budapest) 6.96 Wetland Restoration in the Duna-Drava National Park 5.20 Dissemination and Replication 0.43 Public Disclosure Copy Overall Ratings Previous Rating Current Rating Progress towards achievement of GEO Satisfactory Moderately Satisfactory Overall Implementation Progress (IP) Moderately Satisfactory Moderately Satisfactory Overall Risk Rating Medium-I Implementation Status Overview Component A (Development of tertiary treatment at the North Budapest Wastewater Treatment Plant (NBWWTP)) has been implemented in asatisfactory manner and the Plant was substantially completed by March 2010. The contract is in the one-year trial or defects liability phase until March 2011. This investment has resulted in a reduction of Budapest's nutrient discharge into the Danube River and subsequently into the Black Sea, thus contributing to the first global environmental objective (GEO) of the project. Page 1 of 5 The World Bank Report No: ISR1910 ComponentB(Wetland Restoration in the Gemenc and Beda-Karapancsa areas of the Duna-Drava National Park (DDNP)) on the other hand has proceededslower than envisaged. Public Disclosure Copy The Works contract was finally signed in October 2010. However commencement of the works is dependant onbeing able to obtain necessary licenses (Environmental, Water, Foresty) and the construction permits in a timely manner. It is imperative that the works commence as soon as possible if they are to be completed and the remaining project objectives/GEOs of enhancing the nutrient trapping capacity of the Gemence and Beda-Karapansca wetlands and the dissemination of key lessons on nutrient reduction(Component C) are to be met by the project closing date.
