There is continuous slow progress in the Institutional Strengthening component as was the case in the previous mission. The TAs are just a beginning in the implementation of the USD 50 million TA component and investment decision has to be made for the balance amount of USD 50 million while half of the project duration is already over. Also it was agreed to field the next mission in September to receive an update on the progress and take decision on any further upgrading/ downgrading of the project ratings. The forecast for total expenditure for FY15 is USD 150 million which could result in disbursement of about USD 100 million during FY15. DFCCIL has been requested to monitor the progress of the civil works contract closely as slow progress in civil works contracts is the main reason for slow disbursement. Public Disclosure Copy A workshop on exploring integration opportunities between EDFC and IWT was held at the World Bank office in New Delhi on July 21, 2014. This was mainly for integration of Eastern DFC and National Waterways-1 as both come close to each other near Varanasi and there is an opportunity for their integration. Another workshop on exploring alternative approaches to non-discriminatory access and development of a methodology for establishing track access charges was held at the DFCCIL office in New Delhi on July 22, 2014.
