The operation has been approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Government of India. The operation was signed on December 13, 2017 and declared effective on January 19, 2018. The first implementation support mission for SIMO took place from December 6-15, 2017. The World Bank team and the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) have mutually agreed and revised the timelines to ensure that the Program Action Plan indicators are met.
