The project closes December 2013. The total project financing is US$5 million (100% IDA financed). The project consists of 7 physical works sub-projects (30 meters of road re-alignment/river defense/slope stabilization sub-project, 3 school rehabilitation sub-projects, and 3 community center rehabilitation sub-projects), and 2 technical assistance sub-projects. Implementation is well underway and there is no anticipated impediment towards achieving the Page 1 of 4 The World Bank Report No: ISR9027 project's development objectives. 6 of the 7 physical works sub-projects are under contract, 5 of which are under construction and range from 30% to 50% complete. The only pending works contract (Georgetown Secondary sub-project) is expected to be signed by February 2013. The only pending technical assistance sub-project is for a consultancy to Establish Hazard and Risk Modeling Database, which is also nearing contract stage. To prevent potential damage to private property in the vicinity of the construction site, the Bank has requested (i) to stabilize the construction site to mitigate any potential hazards; (ii) to suspend the contract and demobilize construction activities, until an adequate design is produced for the slope stabilization. The government will submit an achievable timetable for the completion of the required stabilization works as well as studies required to produce the new designs of the referenced slope stabilization intervention.
