Main aspects of progress in project implementation Page 1 of 5 The World Bank Report No: ISR16074 include the following: • The process for the preparation and approval of the business plans for the first and second call for proposals for productive agriculture subprojects is underway and within schedule. Also, the activities related to the collection of data for the impact evaluation of this Component (Comp. 1) is also underway as planned, supervised by DIME. • The demand for water projects continue to be strong, and the Component 2 is expected to be almost fully disbursed by mid 2015. A technical team has been hired to pilot Public Disclosure Copy appropriate models for greywater reuse in 2 distinct areas of the State. • Project activities assessed were deemed to be in compliance with World Bank social safeguards. Regarding environmental safeguards, there is an urgent need to strengthen the supervision of the application of environmental safeguards both for the water and agriculture subrpojects, in particular the assessments of subproject proposals and the supervision of activities in the field. • Progress on key results indicators is being recorded and includes numbers of people in rural areas benefiting from new piped household water connections and improved sanitation. Other results of productive subproject investments will be recorded once the subprojects start reporting progress (expected by 2015). Project Implementation Progress remains Moderately Satisfactory, while a close supervision of the implementation of the action plan to strengthen the project unit is underway and the improvement of disbursements materializes.
