Construction works started in July 2014. As of May 06, 2017, 61 percent of the total project estimated cost has been spent. This railway is expected to be placed in operation in July, 2018, about 6 months ahead of schedule. Based on traffic witnessed on other recently opened lines (Nanguang/GuiGuang), the project is expected to meet its objective. In particular cities and towns along the alignment are starting to develop plans to make best use of the future connectivity improvement the HaJia line will bring.
