The four project provinces (Shandong, Jiangsu, Anhui and Henan) and Huai Basin Page 1 of 8 The World Bank Report No: ISR16426 Commission had achieved good progress in project implementation compared to project data in January 2014: as of August 31, 2014, the completed investment progress for the project has increased from 56% to 64%, and the Bank loan disbursement rate from 56% to 63%. The availability of counterpart funding at the provincial and county levels in Shandong, Jiangsu, Henan and Anhui has been improved. The key outcomes for the five components of the project include: (1) Flood Protection and Drainage Improvement - the completed works have started to provide flood and water-logging protection of beneficiaries; (2) Disaster Assessment and Support System - the flood warning and disaster Public Disclosure Copy assessment system established and physical models constructed will be completed and have a test run by mid 2015 and then start to reduce flood risks; (3) Institutional strengthening - capacities of PMO staff in flood management and drainage improvement have been strengthened; (4) Resettlement - the interest of project-affected people has been protected; and (5) Project Management - consultants have been employed to support project management and implementation.
