To facilitate the adoption of best practices in terms of energy efficiency technologies, refrigerants with low global warming potential (GWP), and promoting cold chains based on low ozone depleting substances (ODS) this practice paper explores the technologies and practices to reduce the use of ice in retail for the storage of small quantities of fish to reduce the GHG emissions and water consumption in the informal fishery sector.
