Transport-related air pollution strategies : What lessons for developing countries? (anglais)

This paper reviews the current air quality strategy being pursued in developed and developing country cities. The present strategy is essentially curative -stabilize emission amounts first and then reduce the level of air pollution gradually, focusing on improved fuel and automotive technologies for new vehicles, plus routine inspection and maintenance programs for other vehicles.
