Determinants of fertility control in Egypt, 1979-80 (anglais)

Based on a supply-demand theory of contraceptive use, this paper empirically investigates variations in deliberate fertility control among Egyptian women aged 35-44 in 1979-80. The results point to the importance, in determining contraceptive use, of motivation, measured as the excess of the potential supply of children over desired family size.
