Poverty alleviation programs -- both short- and long-term -- require data that can help to accurately identify vulnerable groups. During periods of economic shock, such programs may then be able to better target households that will most require temporary income support in order to maintain their current economic status. Policy analysts may also use this data to understand better the conditions under which vulnerability arises in the first place...
