The heterogeneous effects of a food price crisis on child school enrolment and labor : evidence from Pakistan (anglais)

Using a panel survey, this paper investigates how food price increase in Pakistan in 2008–2010affects children’s school enrollment and labor. The causal identification relies on thegeographical variations in food (wheat) price. The results show that the negative impacts of foodprice increase on school enrollment differ by gender, economic status and the presence ofsiblings.
