The main objectives of the project are to assist the Congo to diversify its exports and promote the economic development of northern Congo by establishing an integrated logging and wood processing complex. The joint venture operating company, the SCBO, would manage a 1.1 million ha forest concession and would log 100,000 cubic metres of timber per year.
